Motives of Change

I read a lot about members of Congress reading warnings, and getting insider memos alerting them to a dire financial crisis... "William White predicted the approaching financial crisis years before 2007's subprime meltdown. But central bankers preferred to listen to his great rival Alan Greenspan instead, with devastating consequences for the global economy." and I have to start wondering... Maybe these who knew, were actually anticipating, and triangulating for this crisis.. Perhaps the thought crossed their mind "let us use this crisis to launch the changes that have been resisted by the masses, such as more monopolized and privatized systems of public resources.."
They had ample warnings, they had brains (have?), they had resources, and one should also therefore wonder, did they have Motive? What were they?
This to me, always comes back into focus, when I place it into the human nest scale... I first think "is the nest healthy?"
Already knowing that the nest's are grossly out of scale, and cancerous, I then jump to the conclusion that this is merely more symptomatic of a system that is reaching for its last glowing resource, and its original resource, the human soul.
It is up to us to tame and to manage our garden.. To also allow it to flourish in a way that is healthy in the long term, in all it variety and depth.
